Who hires a Series 7 tutor?
Three kinds of people call me.
The retaker
You failed by a few points. Maybe twice. Your firm is watching the clock and Kaplan or STC clearly isn’t getting it done on its own. This is my specialty. A failed attempt tells me exactly where you’re weak — we don’t start over, we fix what’s broken.
The plateau
Your practice scores are stuck at 65–70 and won’t move. More questions aren’t helping because you keep missing the same types of questions. You don’t need more reps. You need someone to diagnose the pattern.
The deadline
Your firm gave you a test date and it’s coming fast. You need a plan, not a 400-page manual. I’ll tell you what to skip. Nobody else will tell you that.

What a session actually looks like
No slideshows. No reading the manual to you. You’d fire me if I did that.
First session: I look at your practice exam results and find the pattern. Options, margin, munis, suitability — everybody’s leak is different. Then we work the exact question types you’re missing until you can explain them back to me. I give you real-floor examples because that’s how the material sticks. Between sessions, you can text me when you’re stuck. I answer.
Most students who come to me after a failed attempt need 4–8 hours. Some need two. I’ll tell you honestly which one you are after the first session — I don’t sell hours you don’t need.

How much does a Series 7 tutor cost?
My rate is $250 an hour, or $140 for a half hour. No contracts, no packages, no minimums — you book the hours you need, and after the first session I’ll tell you honestly how many that is. Most retakers need 4–8 hours total. For comparison: the big tutoring companies want $1,000+ upfront with a contract before you’ve met your tutor, and other private Series 7 tutors charge up to $495 an hour. My team tutors the same method at a lower rate if budget is the issue.

Is a tutor worth it for the Series 7?
If you’re passing your practice exams comfortably, no — save your money. If you’ve failed the exam, or your scores are stuck below the low 70s with your test date approaching, a few hours of targeted help is a lot cheaper than another exam fee, another 30-day wait, and another month of your firm wondering about you.
I failed the Series 7 twice. Can you still help me?
Yes. Multiple-attempt students are the biggest part of my practice. Two fails means your study method is broken, not your brain. We find the pattern in what you’re missing and fix that, instead of re-reading a manual that already didn’t work twice.
Do you tutor the Series 7 online?
Yes. Most sessions are over Zoom with screen sharing, anywhere in the country. If you’re in New York, in-person is available in Manhattan.
Do I still need Kaplan, STC, or Achievable if I have a tutor?
Yes. Tutoring is not a replacement for a question bank — it’s the thing that makes your question bank finally work. I’ll work with whatever materials you already own.
How close to my exam date is too late to start?
It’s never too late to start, but the sweet spot is 2–3 weeks out, after you’ve seen your practice-exam weak spots. If your exam is in four days and you’re panicking, call me anyway — triage is part of the job.
